The Death of a Great Man

We have recently discovered from a trusted source that our great King Duncan was brutally murdered in the night while staying at Macbeth's estate. We do not know the details yet, but two servants were murdered around the same time. Macbeth, the thane of Cawdor and Glamis, claims he killed them in revenge after he saw what they'd done to our beloved king. Unfortunately, this means we cannot get the details of the murder from these clearly guilty people. The heirs to the throne were spotted fleeing the Macbeth estate not long after the murder was discovered. Could it be a case of both regicide and patricide?

Macbeth, whose estate the murder took place at (who's definitely not suspicious at all) took it in his stride and accepted the kingship bestowed upon him in the absence of Malcomb "with a heavy heart." Hopefully, his fate doesn't follow his predecessor's. That could never happen... right?

The noble family of Macbeth has certainly had some highs and lows recently. Recently given the title of the thane of Cawdor, they decided to dine with our late king to celebrate. Clearly, they were great friends and will be sorely missed by the family. Witnesses say Lady Macbeth even fainted upon hearing the news. Clearly, a family so dedicated to the king and country will do a great job ruling Scotland.

We hope the future of Scotland will be bright with our soon-to-be-crowned king, though most of this barely affects the peasant classes, who make up the bulk of our country. But that's okay, because noble interests are the most important. More to come in the next issue on the effectiveness of King Macbeth (even though the printing press hasn't been invented yet).
